Way to go Google I knew you could do it .. errr wait a sec this isn’t so good after all. It turns out that Google’s free services are being heavily used by spammers according to a report from Spamhaus. While last month Microsoft was the in the #5 spot it appears that whatever house cleaning Microsoft did succeeded – everyone headed over to Google. "Microsoft got rid of the bad guys, and off they ...

According to a report surfacing on CBS news station WBZ children’s toy maker Fisher-Price decided to send along some extra goodies with one of their cameras for children. The FP Kid-Tough digital camera is infecting the computers that connect to it via the USB cable supplied with the toy. Anna Tapper couldn’t wait to tear open and try out her favorite present. "I take pictures of lots of things," Anna said. Her father, Jeff Tapper, ...

The tech blogosphere is littered with posts giving the big boys of blogging a slap around or chain yanking over their popularity and presumed power but today proved that there is something to the A-List power after all. I wrote earlier over at The Inquisitr about the complaints that are going on about Feedburner and Google’s apparent lack of interest. The basic back story is that in a pile on that started with Steve Gillmor, ...

I like to think of myself as a pretty faithful Twitter user even though I might poke fun at or give it the ol’ slap around once in awhile. I can even respect the idea that people want to protect their feeds from crass interlopers but can someone please explain why in the hell I would want to friend someone when I have no idea who the hell you are or what you pump through ...

There’s been a minor discussion going on within the tech blogosphere about some of the tools that we as bloggers look to in order for our content to reach our readers as quickly as possible. As well the whole idea about blog searching rather than just general search has had a post or two written about its sad state. I would go one step further and suggest that in general the tools that bloggers use ...

It’s one thing to have a camera shoved up your ass where ever you go in England but that doesn’t appear to be good enough for the powers that be in England; or the European Union. According to a report in the Times Online today the English Home Office has very quietly (I wonder why) adopted a new plan that will allow police across Britain to routinely hack into people’s personal computers without a warrant. ...

It never fails. No sooner than we have had a round of bitching about one social media service than we turn right around and start on some other one. In this case; specially for me, Twitter has ceased for now to being the bitching darling of the tech blogosphere, only to be replaced without even losing a breath by FriendFeed. The whole rigmarole was started in a post by Louis Gray who made some valid ...

One of the terms that really came into popularity in 2008 had to be mommy-bloggers, a term meant to describe the growing number of women raising a family who were becoming proactive on the web. Where advertisers and marketers may have once thought of women on; or off, the web as being a passive market for them to sell to they were quickly learning the opposite was the case. Suddenly women were discovering that they ...

For the past month or so I’ve had an idea percolating just beyond my grasp. I would occasionally get glimpses of what it was or what it wasn’t but never enough that I could get it down on paper – per se. I talked about the idea with Alexander van Elsas on Skype a week or so ago but as great as the conversation was it didn’t make getting all the pieces in place any ...

Look – I realize that Twitter is slightly interesting to talk about but is the technology landscape so frikken boring that this inane service is all that we can talk about. With every refresh of my feed reader this past week talk about Twitter; or some stupid ass third party leech, is the main topic of conversation. It’s not just the blogs either – it’s also infecting FriendFeed and of course Twitter itself. I thought ...

Slowly and surely as we cross the line into 2009 we are working our way towards the release of the next version of Windows. Word has it we will see a public beta release in January; probably around the time of the CES show; but Microsoft is still sticking to the 2010 timetable for the release of the finished product. Myself and a number of other Microsoft watchers – like Mary Jo Foley – believe ...

As we move forward into 2009 and all the predictions of what we can expect to happen in technology and the web for the coming year come pouring out it’s interesting to see how myopic and in some ways short sighted we can be as human being. We are more interested in whether or not some silly little social media service like Twitter will survive the year. We are more concerned with the interconnections of ...

Hell we wasted a whole weekend blathering on about it both in blogs and ...

I don’t think that treading water while a great white shark circled around me is anywhere close to how I would want to spend my day out kayaking. For 29 year old kayaker Steve Kulcsar though it was just what happened during a day on the ocean just off of Sydney Australia. The added bonus was that they caught the incident on video Source: Telegraph.co.uk Related PostsSharks Attack! In Worlds Largest Shopping Centre Aquarium

A lot of this green talk may be nothing more than the latest marketing spin or perhaps to use the really new buzzword – a lot of greenwashing but turning everything possible green is the big trend for 2009.
