Available In: Cydia Price: Free There were a few pretty cool mods released in Cydia recently so I thought I would talk about a few of them. Each of the following mods use WinterBoard to enable/disable them. The first two I would like to mention are themes; Orange Burst and ubuntu. Neither theme seems to have a ton of icons but, if you are looking to just give your main SpringBoard page a new look, ...

Available In: Cydia Price: Free Backgrounder is “A Mobile Substrate-based extension that allows applications to run in the background.” Basically it is an application (similar to Insomnia) that allows applications to run in the background…meaning after you close the application it will continue to run. When you install Backgrounder, you will not get an icon on your SpringBoard…it is just a code application. To enable Backgrounder, open the application that you would like to run ...

Available In: App Store Price: $1.99 I’ve been waiting for this application for a while but I have to say I’m pretty disappointed with it. The app is pretty simple; it displays your earnings from Google’s Adsense program. The first thing that bothered me is that when you open the application you get a pop that says you need to enter your user info under the settings. After hitting ok, the application just closes. It ...

Don’t be confused, this is not their web app, which a lot of people thought was more functional than the app from the App Store. With the recent update, there’s no competition. There is a hack out that will allow you to change your email signature in Mail. We wrote about it before for older firmware but someone emailed us and asked why it doesn’t work with 2.x firmware. The main reason is the directory path has changed to mobile from root. I’m also updating the link to convert the file to XML. It’s not easy, so be ready to spend a few minutes on this one: ...

It seems that when your iPhone is locked and you are prompted to enter your Passcode, you can select Emergency Call and then double tap your Home Button and it will launch your double tap settings. Meaning, if you have your Favorites set as your Home Button double ...
