Many people have drawn a comparison between Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist and Juno, due to the hand drawn opening title sequence / poster title, Michael Cera and a focus on indie pop music. It also doesnt help that Norah screens at the Toronto a year after Juno premiered at the Film Festival. But Nick and Norah is nothing like Juno. The teen comedy genre has always placed one step below Horror movies on the ...

One reason The Daily Show with Jon Stewart works is, they seem to be the only television show where old clips are shown with new. I have no idea why the broader media doesn't do this more often, because it so aptly points out the lies and hypocrisy that go on in politics. Plus, why write jokes when the subjects so clearly mock themselves?I don't watch The Daily Show that often, but I caught this ...

A rather sad commentary on the integrity, depth and sincerity of the American politics. But, it’s funny and it’s Friday, so here it goes. Take it away John Stewart (and thanks for the tip Larry): PS Check out this WSJ article, The Biology of Ideology, which suggests that our political choices may be shaped by genetics. We first heard of the possibility of an Arrested Development movie about eight months ago, when Jeffrey Tambor and Jason Bateman confirmed that talks for the film were in progress. Then this past June, Bateman discussed the film with MTV, saying: We all want to do it. All the actors want to do it, the writers want to do it, and the boss wants to do it. And they are working on making a deal, ...

Today the angels looking down on Scranton, Pennsylvania are crooning “Beers in Heaven.” Steve Carell has signed on to star as Dunder Mifflin’s quasi-top dog, Michael Scott, on NBC’s The Office for three more years. An understandably elated, Ricky Gervais, broke the news on his blog… “Steve Carell (now one of the most bankable film stars in the world) has just signed up for another three years with us. From the moment the voice over intones, "First the world was NORMAL . . . and then the APOCALYPSE came," you know that the web series Steel of Fire Warriors 2010 is basically going to be the most awesome thing you have ever seen. With production values that spare no expense on everything from tin foil to what looks honestly like CGI claymation (huh?), this show obeys the two cardinal rules of apocalyptic B-movie mastery: ...
