Wolfenflickr is a Flash-based implementation of Castle Wolfenstein that decorates the castle's walls with random images pulled from any Flickr stream (or any Flickr tag). Shooting Nazis and looking at snapshots: two great tastes that taste great together. Wolfenflickr (via Wonderland)

Boing Boing tv is taking a week off for organic yak-yogurt wrestling on a private Himalayan island; we leave you to enjoy some of our crew's favorite past episodes in the meantime. "Gem sweater diva" and midwestern maven Leslie Hall has appeared twice on our show. The video featured above is a tour diary she recorded just for us. The camels you notice are actually the shadows of the camels. If you look close you can see the camel itself as the lighter colored objects below each shadow. (You can click on this picture to enlarge it.) Thanks Stewart

Japanese humor is slowly but surely infiltrating mainstream media in the US. Fake Japanese game shows on ABC, human Tetris on Fox, the YouTube video of the guy that shoots out of a toilet stall into a ski slope... as someone who grew up in Tokyo watching Japanese variety shows every night, though, I have to say that the US adaptations don't really get it. Previously, I explained why I thought I Survived a Japanese ...

Filed under: ComputersIf you hear the name Yoda, you probably think of the little sage sage in the 'Star Wars' films who had a funny way of speaking and apparently was pretty handy with a lightsaber. In Japan, however, Yoda is simply a common family name, a situation that social networking site Facebook seems somewhat oblivious to, since Facebook has been blocking all 'Yodas' from signing up on the site.According to Boing Boing, Japanese author ...

The Hacked! USB Drive is actually a 2GB flash drive that just looks like a frayed USB cable. ZOMG, people will look at that and be so confused! The only thing that could make it better is if, instead of a frayed USB cable, it was a real severed arm complete with tattoos and 4GB of storage. Imagine the looks you'd get with that hanging out the side of your laptop! Looks like "OMG, I'm ...

The Evil Mad Scientist Labs folks have conducted exhaustive investigation into the value of objects relative to their weight, starting with coins and bills and working through commodities like flour, and thence to exotics like human blood and antimatter. This is extremely useful information if you're ever trying to get a lot of valuta through a narrow aperture. People have been saying that the new industrial grade swimsuits like the LZR Racer are worth their ...

Here's a funny short video of Chinese people being exposed to fortune cookies (an American invention) for the first time: Americans find high emotional attachment to the slips inside their cookies, looking to them for winning lottery numbers and becoming upset when the fortunes inside are unfortunate. The Chinese, on the other hand, would often tell me after trying the curved vanilla-flavored wafers, “Americans are so strange, why are they putting pieces of paper in ...

The Teddy Bear USB drive does a really nice job of switching from sickly sweet to just sickening -- just rip its head off and plug its neck into your computer and it looks like you've crushed a little anthropomorphic bear's noggin and forced it into a tiny, little USB port.
