While this is by far our favorite geek vanity plate, we don't pretend that others don't exist. And frankly, if I pulled up behind someone repping a wireless radio standard for all to see on the back of their Hyundai, I think there's a great chance I might spit-take my Big Gulp and risk a rear impact collison. And that's not the only one—Pingdom's blog has a great roundup of geek flags flying high and ...

Historial ayer ...

This flow chart titled ‘Small Talk With a Web Designer’ comes straight from The Man in Blue in response to Jason Santa Maria’s ‘Explain Yourself‘ article on the notion of the title “Graphic Designer” as it applies to web design. Having been a fan of Jason’s websites before, and seeing his work at Happy Cog (based in both Philadelphia and New York), I’ve come to realize that the internet is a wild and crazy game ...

Few things are hotter than a sexy geek. The success of Shai LaBeouf in Hollywood is proof of that. French clothing designer John Nouanesing knows this and keeping the geeky ladies in mind, he’s designed the Geekini, a two-piece bikini with appropriately placed buttons, resembling an old school Nintendo controller. You can find the start and select buttons on the bikini’s bottom. Alas, according to Nouanesing’s site, the Geekini is just a conceptual item, but ...

These are the walls of a Human-Computer Interaction Institute lab at Carnegie Mellon, and as you can see, they provide plenty of opportunities to create such interactions on the fly when you snag your sweater on some spiky solder leads or that ZIF socket handle. Chris Harrison, a PhD student, bought old motherboards on eBay by the pound to completely adorn the lab in mo-bos. And while this is great for the computer science lab ...

While his ability to rotate 360° at the elegant flick of the Segway's stalk seems to be a bit compromised, what this mod lacks in maneuverability it makes up with pure steamrolling surface area. The guy extended each axle to accommodate six more tires, thus becoming the only dude I know of who's been able to actually increase a Segway's macho factor, outside of the Chinese military, of course.
