When you're going to buy a USB thumb drive, there's not much differentiating all the brands other than looks. Usually, people just grab the cheapest or the least stupid-looking. That won't be the case when PNY unleashes it's newest 2GB drive. Why? It'll come preloaded with Ghostbusters, that's why. Ghostbusters! There's no word on the pricing or what format the movie comes in, but if it's priced similarly to other 2GB drives, those other drives ...

This is, simply, a Space Invaders keyboard. Well, for copyright reasons it’s called ElectroJoe’s Bendiboard Retroboarde (you need to register just to see it for some dumb reason), but you get the idea. The keyboard shares the same layout as the MacBook, and while the actual characters are a little difficult to discern, you’re obviosuly just paying for the gimmick. And if you’re a child of some time ago and now spend all day in ...

Logitech's last keyboard offering was the wireless touchpad diNovo for Macs, and though this new keyboard is neither wireless nor touchpad-enabled, it's got two things going for it: it's got back-lit keys for night typing, and it's just 0.37-inches deep. That's skinny, though not quite Apple keyboard aluminum skinny. Due in October in the US and Europe for $80. [Press release]

The Gadget: The LaCie USB speakers designed by Neil Poulton are an encore to the original FireWire version. The Price: $60 The Verdict: If you liked the unique ship-vent design of the original FireWire version, you will not be disappointed with its new USB twin. However, outside of the design, I did encounter a few potential problems. Again, I love the design of the speakers. They are extremely compact and the minimalist style looked great ...

The software maker has been granted a US patent on "navigating paginated content in page-based increments." Microsoft has been granted a patent on 'Page Up' and 'Page Down' keystrokes. The software giant applied for the patent in 2005, and was granted it on August 19, 2008....

With all of that time spent on the computer, I would imagine that most of you can type at a pretty good clip. Back in Elementary school I managed a personal best of 88 WPM (Not that great, but I still had to cheat by working over the same paragraph for an hour or so *shhhhh*). Anyway, I'm curious to know what the average is, so pick the closest figure to your WPM score in ...

Microsoft claims that come September 9th, you can kiss laser goodbye. Everyone was quite confused as to what Microsoft meant, that is until this picture of the mystery product that would put laser in its place showed up on Amazon’s Germany site. It’s called the Blue Track and it allegedly uses a blue LED teamed up with a wide-angle lens for better tracking on more surfaces than laser and optical are capable of. Hey, I’m ...

When an FCC filing reveals a company's product, there's usually this awkward silence from all corporate parties involved who wait for an arbitrary date to make any real announcements. Microsoft, proving that they do indeed read the internet, has admitted their plans to release a 120GB Zune and teased developments to come: You've probably all seen about 120GB @the FCC- and just wanted to send you a note to confirm that is indeed part of ...

Microsoft has a teaser up on their hardware site with the tagline "Say Goodbye to Laser." Most likely a hint regarding the upcoming Sept. 9 Microsoft event, we can only assume that Microsoft has developed an alternative to the near-perfect laser mouse or maybe made a breakthrough in "optical" media. (Well, one of those choices, or they've developed an advanced rail gun/microwave/nuclear technology that the Navy and DARPA will pursue instead of high powered beams ...

Microsoft is being all mysterious today by running a teaser ad for a new mouse technology with the intriguing - or completely misleading tagline - 'Say Goodbye to Laser'. The company looks set to bring something new to the world of computer mice on September 9 and, if the company hopes to have any chance of ousting the fabulous laser mouse, it will have to come up with something really special. Laser mice were a ...

Though it sounds more like a droid-designation than a useful product, the N4B1 from LG is a combined network HDD bay and Blu-ray disc recorder: Much better than pairing a BDR-recorder with a VHS drive. It's got space for up to four HDDs inside (supporting up to 4TB total capacity) and three USB ports and an extra e-SATA connection so you can presumably bolt on even more storage. The BDR recorder can burn data to ...

It took over a year to bring to market (that's Lebedev for you), but it appears that they took that time to subtly streamline the quirky little drive. You can pick up a 4GB now in yellow, blue or purple for $55. [Art Lebedev via Electronista]
