We’ve talked a lot recently about the ascendency in educational gaming of the Nintendo DS, the descendant of the once ubiquitous GameBoy Advance handheld gaming system. New research is showing positive results for appropriate DS games to increase test scores, and gaming companies are porting over titles for studying the SAT to the platform. Now Nintendo is releasing an update to the system, called the DSi. It has generated quite a stir. Here are some ...Shared by Marina (24)Contribute comment -

This Wall Street Journal article talks about how geolocation data can aid online commerce. I find it interesting because Kynetx takes this data and layers other services on top of it and then makes the whole thing incredibly easy to integrate with any Web site. This story about ACE Hardware is exactly what Kynetx does today: Consider Ace Hardware, a cooperative of more than 4,600 dealer-owned hardware stores that overhauled its Web site in February ...Shared by Dave Fletcher (14)Contribute comment -

Got back long after the FOMC news was released. As we expected yesterday, the Fed disappointed the perma-bulls and left rates unchanged. Here's what grabbed my eye between meeting. The Wall Street Journal will launch its first new design in six years Tuesday, but its biggest flaw will still be present: The paper will continue to charge for much of its content. The Journal’s new look may appear more modern, but the principles behind it could not be more antiquated. In our information-driven era, the subscription-based news service appears ostensibly misguided and misplaced. Consider this: Only 5 percent of the WSJ’s average Web audience ...Shared by AJ (298) CannonGod (268) GeniusBoyWonder (48) grow (31) louisgray (228) Mike F (837) pixelcollector (8)Contribute comment -
