The Times (of London) recently reported that "The F.B.I. has been forced to transfer agents from its counter-terrorism divisions to work on Bernard Madoff's alleged $50 billion fraud scheme." This might lead you to ask an obvious counter-question: Has the anti-terror enforcement since 9/11 in the U.S. helped fuel the financial meltdown? That is, has the [...]Shared by Burad (31) Christopher Wink (111)Contribute comment - History of the Internet (1)

Over a long period of time, there has been a constant debate over whether regular trading in shares should amount to an individual being taxed as ‘Business Income’ or ‘Income from Capital Gains’. In case of capital gains arising from equities sold in a recognized stock exchange, the gains are either Long-term which is exempt under Sec. 10(38) or Short-term, taxed @15.45% flat.
