Here are the first real spy shots of the upcoming Android powered Agora Pro from Kogan. Up until now the only available images of the Agora Android phones have been glossy renderings of devices causing many to question whether the phones would ever see the light of day. It is rumored that the Agora Pro will be making its debut at CES this week, so hopefully we should see some actual video footage of the ...

AMD's anticipated answer to the Atom is coming soon, but there's a catch: It's not an answer to the Atom. It's more expensive, faster, sucks more power, and isn't intended for netbooks. Oops! The processor is called the Athlon Neo, and it's based on the previously-leaked Yukon platform. Compared to AMD's current offerings, it is an evolutionary step: It's smaller, media-oriented, and bundled with the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3410 video hardware, theoretically allowing for ...

The Gadget: The HP Mini 2140 is the update to the education and business oriented Mini 2133 netbook. HP says they bumped the 2140's specs to cater more to the road warriors. The Skinny: The most notable changes in the 2140 is the 10-inch, LED-backlit, 16:9 screen (1366x768!) and the 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor. Visually, the 2140 is pretty much identical to the 2133. HP also tacked on support for 802.11n wi-fi. Other than that, ...

CrunchGear says they've got the dirt on what Palm is launching at CES, which, let's face it, better be awesome if they wanna stick around. According to their source, that may just be the case. They say that the Nova OS is "amazing" and will have an app store at launch. And it'll have media playback (uh, kinda like every other smartphone OS). The touchscreen is portrait-oriented—CrunchGear calls it "large," but a screen that's large ...

Bear in mind that this could be complete rubbish, but unconfirmed reports from "trusted sources" have reportedly stated that Palm's first Nova-based handset will tout a full QWERTY keyboard that slides down beneath a touchscreen (is your imagination running wild yet?). Moreover (and more importantly), the fresh operating system is being described as "amazing," and we're also told that "a ton" of software will be pre-loaded to provide multimedia playback as well as traditional functions ...

9to5Mac is reporting that a unibody, 17-inch MacBook Pro will be announced at Macworld, following in the footsteps of the previously released unibody 13 and 15-inchers. The rumor, backed up by some "whisperers" at Macrumors, isn't really an earth-shattering surprise -- though the accompanying revelation that this model is expected to have a slim, extended-life, non-removable battery is rather eye-opening -- and somewhat disappointing, considering the lameness of non-removable batteries. We'll know for sure on ...

While we knew much of Sony's new netbook's specs already, the price was still a mystery. But new leaks put the Vaio Pocket awfully close to the $1000 mark, which makes it a pricey toy indeed. The leaks confirm the 1.33 GHz processor, and specifies it as a Z250 Atom, as well as the ultra-sharp 1600x768 8-inch screen. It'll be packing 2GB of memory as well as GPS, which suggests it'll at least have an ...

Why does Intel have to be so darn stubborn? First it insists on only bundling the Atom processor with their own graphics (simultaneously breaking poor NVIDIA's heart), and then there's whole thing where it restricts the CPU to netbooks under 10.2-inches. But like all good things, this too might someday come to an end. According to Gadget Mix, HP is currently negotiating with the chipmaker with the intent of using the processor in notebooks 13-inches ...

Making good on Google's continued pledge to not limit Android to just phones, two guys at VentureBeat got Android up an running on their Eee PC 1000H. But a question comes to mind: why? Not that we didn't already have a hunch that VIA was working up a dual-core Nano, but it seems that details are beginning to firm up just a bit. According to a new report over at China-based HKEPC, the dual-core Atom-killer will be dubbed the Nano 3000, and while it will still rely on a 65-nanometer manufacturing process, the power consumption should be much lower than existing Nano chips. Furthermore, it'll reportedly boast SSE4 instruction ...

HP is finally joining this weird, new multiple display party with the Voodoo DNA-ed Firefly, which carries a secondary screen, an oddly-placed multitouch trackpad and guts comparable to its powerful desktop counterpart. LaptopMag has a full hands-on with a prototype unit, which should be on display at CES. They're generally impressed, as for all the bold changes in form factor, this hunkering monstrosity still seems to retain its usability. The secondary screen got mixed reviews. ...
