Old school gymnastics amazingness (3)

- Jordan Brock said: I was wondering the other day if Gymnastics is seeing the same level of improvement that other, more measureable, sports are seeing. For example, records are continually being set in swimming, athletics, rowing, cycling etc. But, probably because I don't know much about the sport, and because it's less tangible, is there the same level of improvement in gymnastics. If you look at this routine from 36 years ago, it's kind of hard to see how it could be improved upon.

Red-Light Cameras Just Don&8217;t Work (41)

Vito Rispo, on the danger of red-light cameras: In fact, six U.S. cities have been found guilty of shortening the yellow light cycles below what is allowed by law on intersections equipped with cameras meant to catch red-light runners. Those local governments have completely ignored the safety benefit of increasing the yellow light time and decided to install red-light cameras, shorten the yellow light duration, and collect the profits instead. A look at just how crazy Michael Johnson's 200m world record is. Eyeballing the chart would suggest that the cutting edge of human achievement in the 200m is anything sub-19.7. A 19.59 at Beijing would be phenomenal. Then you scroll down -- way down -- and you hit Johnson's 19.32. Johnson has stated that he's fully prepared for Usain Bolt to break his record. There’s a bit in this three-year old article that Gruber linked to about Apple’s design process that caught my brain: Products get worked on in parallel by all departments at once—design, hardware, software—in endless rounds of interdisciplinary design reviews. State Supreme Court rejects noncompete clauses (26)

This is one area where Michigan has actually been fairly progressive for a long time. Basically the company would have to prove that a) the move wasn't beneficial to you at all and b) that the only reason for the move was to hurt the company you left. If moving to a competitor is beneficial to the individual in the least, even a signed non-compete clause would be thrown out as invalid.Shared by adam (0) Andrew Boardman (64) Atomic Chicken Ranch (0) Brian Newby (1) Bryce (8) Caleb Elston (13) Chad (134) Chad Dickerson (1) Chris Gansen (4) Chris Miller (1) Christian (1) Clint Ecker (11) Dan (10) dryan (6) Dtrizzle (0) Eric (11) Eric Mortensen (26) greenergrad (12) Greg (8) jon with no h (1) Justin Miller (8) Michael (13) nathos (2) R.
